IQS Tech Factory, the first industrial startup accelerator in Spain, and BHV (Barcelona Health Ventures) Partners, venture builders of #healthtech start-ups, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for industrial start-ups in the health world.
IQS Tech Factory is dedicated to detecting and supporting prototype start-ups to boost their industrialization, generate contacts with large corporations and investors, as well as their growth and insertion into the industrial sector.
BHV Partners, with headquarters in Barcelona and San Francisco -two worldwide recognized hub in the biomedical industry- identifies top notch health projects, co-creating start-ups, accompanying and accelerating them throughout their life cycle, generating their strategy, business development and internationalization.
The combination of the impulse provided by IQS Tech Factory and BHV Partners offers a unique growth opportunity for Catalan industrial start-ups in the health field, and a boost to the development of these micro-enterprises, which, on the one hand, are the result of the entrepreneurial impulse of our scientists; and on the other hand, already have a specific weight in the Catalan industrial sector, with a relevant social impact.
Marta Príncep, director of BHV Partners says “In Catalonia and Spain we have an enviable level of scientific development, now we are beginning to demonstrate that we also know how to bring it to market by developing products and applications that will improve the welfare and quality of life of millions of people in the world.”
Oriol Pascual, director of IQS Tech Factory, comments: “We have an industrial strenght and tradition, so industrial start-ups are the logical future to innovate and renew the traditional industry. Our commitment is to promote scientific-technical-based entrepreneurship, from prototypes to industrialization, in any industrial sector, ant this makes us unique”.
The agreement between IQS Tech Factory and BHV Partners promotes access to industrial know-how in the field of health, combining the expertise of both entities so that health start-ups have the best opportunities to be successful.
