One of the benchmark names in the US biotechnology ecosystem. More than 20 years ago, he left Barcelona for Silicon Valley. He has participated in the creation of companies like Microcide Pharmaceuticals, Vicuron (acquired by Pfizer), Peninsula (acquired by Johnson & Johnson), Anthera, Tetraphase, Arixa and the venture builder BHV Partners.

Since 2005, he has been chairman of JTPS Consulting in San Francisco.

In 2021, he was named chairman of the board of Attivare Therapeutics, a start-up established by a team from the Wyss Institute at Harvard to address the challenge of treating tumours with low immunogenicity.
