Biography

In 2019, he created BHV Partners along with fellow executives, entrepreneurs and scientists Marta PríncepJoaquim Trias and Joan Bigorra.

A serial entrepreneur and business angel. He has vast experience in strategy, business development and marketing in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices industry. In 2006, he joined Hospital Clínic Barcelona to create the Technology Transfer Unit, the first in a Spanish hospital, which he has led since 2014. He has subsequently participated in the launch of the ITEMAS platform of the Carlos III Health Institute and was co-founder of REGIC (Network of Clinical Research Management Institutions), both to promote innovation in the Spanish hospital system.

In 2009, he co-founded the spin-off Bionure (now known as Accure Therapeutics) to develop a drug to combat neurodegenerative diseases, mainly multiple sclerosis. Between 2010 and 2016, he took this project to Silicon Valley to raise funds. Accure Therapeutics has licensed one of its molecules in Phase II to the Swiss biopharmaceutical firm Oculis for more than a billion dollars.

As well as BHV, he is also currently involved in several companies in the health sector as a consultant, mentor or board member.

Throughout his career he has raised over 20 million euros and the start-ups he has participated in have made over 100 million euros.

He is an active speaker at events on entrepreneurship and innovation.
